Emergency Rent/Utilities Assistance Each applicant under goes a brief screening process to determine eligibility and how we may best serve their needs. Clients must call (281) 332-3881 to make an appointment before arriving. We provide crisis financial assistance with a client’s rent and/or utility bills to prevent homelessness and/or disconnection of vital utility services. Assistance is offered once a year for a documented financial crisis up to three times in a lifetime. Upon scheduled meeting, bring with you: Identification: Unexpired Texas Driver’s License or TX ID Card. Social Security Card or Birth Certificate for all household members. Current lease or mortgage, in client’s name . If there is a vacate, lockout or eviction notice, bring also. Most current utility bill, in client’s name . If there is a disconnect and/or cut-off notice you must bring both statements. Income: Three most recent paycheck stubs for all workers in the household. Proof of child support and amount received. Award letters from any of the following: Food Stamps – TANF Social Security – SSI Unemployment benefits or denial letter Worker’s Compensation Crisis Documentation: Any documentation showing why they are in crisis, such as doctor or hospital bills, car repair bills, theft reports If you have been given pledges from other agencies or churches, bring pledge documents with you.
