City of Lorain, Ohio - LORAIN offers program called homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), is distributed according to the formula used for the Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) program. Recipients may provide rent assistance or services to eligible program participants who reside or would like to reside outside their jurisdiction. In addition, they may fund grantees that serve individuals outside of jurisdiction, grantees that are outside of jurisdiction, and grantees that serve multiple jurisdictions. Grantees can establish more stringent requirements, such as requiring HPRP funds to be spent within their jurisdiction or establishing residency requirements, but HUD has not established these requirements.     Hello. I am in need of assistance for housing. I am disabled am receiving SSI. I currently rent a room from my friend/roommate but my health is getting worse and we're getting older and both need our own space and time is of the essence as you may understand. Please advise if any help may be available and what I need to do.
