Rowan County Department of Social Services

Rowan County Department of Social Services  provides benefits for families with children to alleviate an emergency situation defined as an unexpected and immediate crisis that is not expected to happen again if assistance is provided. Citizenship and residence requirements apply, as well as income and resource limits. Examples of situations in which services may be provided are families who are at immediate risk of eviction or foreclosure or when a utility notification has been issued. Office hours: Monday to Friday 7:30 am. - 17:00 h (except on public holidays)

    Need help with paying our rental house rent.

    I need help with rent to avoid being evicted. Got behind when pandemic started because my daughter's income changed. One was laid off completely and the other was out of work an entire month due to store closing due to covid. Landlord passed away September 2020 and everybody was supposed to hold onto money but with pandemic and other things happening it's been impossible.
