Crisis Financial AssistanceCrisis Financial Assistance Programs provide individuals with financial assistance who do not qualify for any other emergency programs or whose needs cannot be met through other resources.
Each program has different eligibility requirements.
A monetary limit has been set for all programs. Assistance cannot be provided from more than one program and often times, there must be other monies from the person, family, friends, or community agencies that is committed to allow the crisis need to be met.
A Social Worker will assess your situation and review program requirements with you to determine if assistance can be provided when you meet with them.
If assistance can not be provided the Social Worker will talk with you about community agencies that may be available to assist.
These program have specific guidelines and cannot be utilized unless the following criteria is met:There must be a documented crisis, beyond the individual's control that occurred within the last thirty days that would have caused the person to be unable to fulfill the financial obligation for which they are requesting assistance.The person will have to show that the income they will receive in the next month will be sufficient to allow them to maintain their ongoing expenses.Households applying for assistance must provide the following:Social Security Cards and Dates of Birth for all household membersDocumentation of citizenshipCheck stubs, wage statements, ESC benefits, child support, bank or retirement fund statements reflecting income for the month prior to and month of application) for applicant and all household memberUtility noticesCrisis Landlord Statement completed by landlordDocuments/receipts to verify what happened within the last thirty days to cause the crisis.Assistance may be authorized for:Utility Payments (utility source must be in past due status).Rental payments (only in incidents of eviction, property condemnation and temporary housing situation (i.e.
homeless, domestic violence shelter, etc.)Assistance will not be authorized for:DepositsReturned check chargesTampering feesIndividuals may contact the Adult Services Line at 704-920-1400 for questions regarding Crisis Financial Assistance.
