DEPOSIT AND FIRST MONTH'S RENT PROGRAMAs part of the 2016–2017 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs, the City of Ames will be implementing a Rental Deposit and First Month's Rent Assistance Program as part of the Renter Affordability Program. The program is designed to assist eligible low-income households with up to $1,200.00 towards rental deposits and/or first month’s rent. Applications are also available the Planning & Housing Department, 515 Clark Avenue, Room 214, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information please contact our Housing Hotline at 515-239-5380. Applications will be processed from July 1st through June 30th each year OR until funding is depleted. Hours: Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM

    I moved on August 8 to Ames to an apartment at Windsor Pointe & Brighton Park Apartment. What are the requirements to qualify for this payment assistance for the first month's rent? If so, what documents do I need for this help? Is it by appointment? I appreciate all the information you can give me about it.

    I live in Marshalltown Iowa. My handi-cap friend are homeless and are need of assistance on a place to live if there is any funds avaliable. Please contact me for more information.
