Since its conception in Paris almost 200 years ago, the Society has spread throughout the world, so that today it can be found in 150 countries. The Society now has over 750,000 members worldwide, who continue the work begun by Frederic Ozanam in 1833. Family Assistance Center: Their Family Assistance center is located at 4451 Mercantile Ave in Naples. On average, over the last several years they have assisted more than 15,00 men, women and children in Naples who come to the center seeking help. These people are interviewed by Vincentian caseworkers to determine need, and when so determined, caseworkers make every effort to provide assistance. The manner in which we offer aide is focused on what we believe are necessities: food and hygiene items, housing assistance, water and electrical service, clothing and furniture.
