East Hartford Interfaith Ministries is organized into three basic divisions. The friendship center serves free hot evening meals on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. The Human Needs Fund extends financial assistance to low income East Hartford residents for: Fuel Rent Utility Medical needs New beginnings provides one new appliance or bed as a welcoming gift to families moving out of the homeless shelter into a private residence in East Hartford and also, in conjunction with Faith Lutheran Church (Faith Moves) supplies used furnishings for others in need. All the work of EHIK is accomplished through volunteers and one part-time professional food handler. The budget is met through voluntary contributions.
